Connor from F&V shows us what new gear we can expect from their store this year. We take a look at the F3 External Monitor, Slider Advanced, their new Follow Focus and the brand new Ultra Color LED Light.
The F3 External Monitor is the newer version of F&V’s original F1. The F3 is equipped with a 1024X600 pixel LED-backlit display, a 170º viewing angle, peaking, vertical image flip, black & white, 4:3/16:9 ratios and more. This will be a 7″ monitor with HDMI and HD/SDI options available this June.
The F&V SA80 28″ Camera Slider is their updated version of the original SA80 Slider. The advanced ball-bearing carriage is size is larger and the legs have been remodeled. Users now have all-terrain, articulating legs with adjustable feet. The newly updated F&V Camera Slider will be available in three sizes this June.
The F&V Light Weight Matte Box or LW Matte Box has optional top and side flags, comes with two filter trays, one of which is rotatable 4X4, The standard LW Matte Box will come with fixed 15mm rail mount and there will be a swing away option. A donut to keep sun out is included with the LW Matte Box and a clip-on mounting option is expected to be available in the future. The clip-on kit will allow you to clip the LW Matte box directly onto your lens so you won’t need a rail kit.
The New Follow Focus with a hinged arm can adjust to any sized lens. It comes with a high precision nylon gear box with almost no play. Connor also tells me about future plans to add a dampening system to the Follow Focus to allow users to adjust the dampening or friction of the follow focus. Original Follow Focuses from F&V come in varying options and configurations.
Last we take a look at the New LED Ultra Color LED Light. F&V’s previous LED Lights were rated at 85% CRI, the new Ultra Color LEDs are now at 95% CRI. A 95% CRI will give you a higher light quality that will hold consistency across multiple cameras giving you consistent colors.
